On-line Friends--

For the 2nd time in about 3 years or so, I felt compelled to help support a non-profit resource I frequently use...the Wikimedia Foundation. Wikipedia is but one of my sources of information on the web...and they receive no revenue from advertising, because there is none. All of their information is stored on servers somewhere, and their purchase and maintenance is not free.

The Wikimedia Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit charitable corporation
with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status in the United States.

Once, I became part of the process, and personally edited a citation where I discovered erroneous information existed. To me, it is significant that the organization allows all of us, some with specialized information, to become co-contributors by adding to the knowledge-base which benefits all who seek truth.

If you too, benefit from this fantastic and valued resource, won't you consider supporting them as well?

{{cquote|Wikipedia is a miracle. It is the power of millions of individuals contributing, sharing, giving to a pool of knowledge that is free to everyone with the internet. I trust Wikipedia over private encyclopedias because, we, as citizens of the world, "police" the site and can protest information we find inaccurate. There is no other reference site that allows us to do this. We are all essentially editors, participants and recipients of this miracle. Thank you, Jimmy Wales! }}
