{{cquote|I have been an Art Director/Graphic Designer and Photographer for over 30 years. In years past, before the advent of the internet, it took several days if not weeks to research photography for films and presentations. Stock Photography was distributed by a very limited set of Image Libraries from large Agencies.
They controlled almost all the access to these images, even though a lot of the images I need for my work are out of copyright and in the public demain. With the advent of the Internet in the 90's and 2000's it finally became much more easier to research, but you still had a very restricted license for a majority of the public domain materials available. Now with the help of Wikimedia, my research has expanded enormously and the public domain materials are now 'free' as they should be. But I know through experience how difficult it is to determine whether an image is in the public domain. So Wikimedia has helped me tremendously in finding these images and the author/owner(s) of the images. That is why I made my donation to Wikimedia. Every Graphic Designer and photographer should do this! }}

{{cquote|I have health problems, most web based sources use the pain of illness to sell "cures". These schemes, the high tech version of snake oil, are useless expensive and harm a vulnerable group; often poor uninsured desperate people in pain. Even the fortunate few who have health insurance education money and time become susceptible if chronically or mortally ill. Wikipedia is not a final source of hard information due to the indiscriminate origins of it's data, yet there is nothing being sold, no one milking misery for profit. Wikipedia at it's best is the largest most diverse support group imaginable. I am grateful for the facts offered as gifts and the inspiration of humans cooperating for the highest good. }}
