Can anyone explain (a) what this means; and (b) how it's relevant to this page? I'm lost. --MZMcBride 02:16, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

:Stop being intentionally difficult. You know what that means and what's its for and why it's there.--Jorm 02:55, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

:: I don't think posting to a talk page is being difficult. I honestly have no idea what the hell it means or what it's for. I can probably find a few others who are equally confused. --MZMcBride 03:20, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

:::Thanks for the feedback! We wanted to convey the sense of the people who work here that we love the WMF mission and from what I've seen in my short time at the Foundation, really think about things a /lot/. As an example, my husband doesn't think he's had a conversation with me since I started at WMF that didn't have some reference to work. :) (We're still figuring out if that's a good thing.) I DO think I'm very fortunate to love my job. That said, if the quote doesn't convey that and doesn't make sense for people, it's really good feedback and we'll keep evolving the page until it does. == On prepositions ==

I believe the overarching "Help wanted for changing the world." should be changed to "Help wanted to change the world." Emphasis added only for illustration here, not to suggest it should be done on the actual design. "To" provides a stronger sentiment and flows a bit more naturally, in my opinion. :Thank you! Page changed a little more. Tell me what you think! Gyoung (talk) 15:35, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

white text on gray background (wikipedia globe)
top of the page says

Work with the foundation that supports Wikipedia and its sister projects in more than 285 languages.

The text is white; part of the image in background behind that is gray. Therefore very hard to read. (and maybe varies from device to device and reader to reader. but I don't think most people have a much better experience than I do) --Jeremyb (talk) 00:29, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
:What color would you prefer? PiRSquared17 (talk) 04:51, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
:: I don't really care. If I take colors from text (#edeeed) and background image next to text (#c6cac9) by eyedropping a screenshot and plug them into http://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/ then we fail all the tests on that page. So maybe let's start by not failing those tests (at least WCAG AA, not sure if we should go for WCAG AAA too) and then see how it looks. btw, was going to ping heather when I first wrote this and then forgot. --Jeremyb (talk) 05:30, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

4 years later, is this image still considered not distasteful in USA? Because in Europe I'm pretty sure it would be seen as sarcastic. Certainly something less partisan and/or less recentist can be found? If there is a shortage of brilliant ideas, you can always put some John Stuart Mill image, that can't be wrong. --Nemo 23:42, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Update number of paid holidays
There's a discrepancy between paid US holidays listed here and in the staff handbook but I would feel more comfortable if someone from HR made this change. Thank you! SNiedzielski (WMF) (talk) 20:05, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Add a line about developers under 'Volunteers'?
Basically just something about how, as an open-source movement, we also accept code contributions from volunteer developers etc. And a duplicate of the 'developers' link in the footer or stuff. -— Isarra ༆ 22:54, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
