About me
I have a background in tech communications, digital media, and storytelling, and am passionate about free and open information. Before joining the Wikimedia Foundation, I led Communications for GoodData, a data and analytics start-up in San Francisco. Prior to GoodData I held a number of roles at the Horn Group, a tech communications agency, helping to translate technical stories for a broader audience. Previously, I contributed to Forbes.com, and worked at Forbes Media in a number of roles, including market research and Executive Coordinator for the CEO.
I received my Bachelors of Arts from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, where I graduated with honors and degree in International Relations and French. My senior thesis applied international relations models to American legal justifications of torture after 9/11. A love of learning and knowledge has always guided my life.
My work
I am responsible for strategic messaging, media and public relations, and product communications on the Foundation's Communications team. I work with my incredible team to tell the Wikimedia story to the world, helping people understand the important work of our volunteers and the value of our projects. This includes working with the press, collaborating with the community, developing strategic messaging, and conducting outreach campaigns to increase awareness and usage of Wikimedia projects. I see collaboration with community members as a critical part of our work, and I am always looking for new ways to work together!
