| about me = I come to the Wikimedia movement and the [[m:Funds Dissemination Committee|Funds Dissemination Committee]] with a passion for strategic and impactful grantmaking, participatory collaborative work, and transparent decision-making. My background spans philanthropic activities and [[w:Non-governmental organization|NGO]] programs, systems, and operations. I spent four years at CARE International with the [[w:ECB Project|Emergency Capacity Building Project]], a collaboration between six of the largest NGOs, aimed at improving humanitarian response. There, I led the knowledge management and learning portfolio and focused on increasing accountability to disaster affected people. Prior to that, I worked for several years at the Global Fund for Children, managing the Eastern Europe and US grants and capacity building initiatives. Over the years, I have developed and served on a number of creative grantmaking programs, including a [[w:giving circle|giving circle]], a community grantmaking initiative, and several local, regional and national grants panels. |

I speak Spanish and Portuguese, 'good enough' French, and have a lifelong goal of mastering the Cyrillic alphabet. I hail from the Midwest, and I consider myself a hiking and cycling enthusiast and am a proud supporter of my local bicycle coalition. |

| about my work = I joined the Wikimedia Foundation in January 2013 as the first Senior Program Officer for the newly constituted Funds Dissemination Committee (FDC). Through an innovative and participatory grantmaking process, the FDC aims to effectively allocate movement funds to achieve Wikimedia’s mission, vision, and strategy. It is my job to ensure that the FDC process is operating smoothly and effectively. I serve as the primary point of contact for fund-seekers and recipients of FDC program funding. |
