FolkSource is a geographic mobile crowdsourcing application, run by GroupLens Research at the University of Minnesota. It is intended as a smartphone-based geographic data-gathering platform, similar to TaskRabbit, or a smartphone-based version of Amazon's Mechanical Turk. One of the data-gathering campaigns we want to pursue involves providing photos to geo-tagged Wikipedia articles that do not have any, which requires OAuth in order to allow our system to upload photos to Wikimedia Commons on behalf of a user.
We are requesting only the rights we need to properly upload photos on behalf of users (e.g. page creation is needed because pages get automatically created when a file is uploaded).
